From a young age, she demonstrated a keen interest in the field, eventually leading her to pursue a Doctor of Optometry degree at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Lay's dedication to community service is shown by her work providing free vision screenings in underserved areas of Puerto Rico. Her return to Virginia after completing her studies further solidifies her commitment to the local community. As an active member of professional optometric associations, Dr. Lay continuously seeks to expand her knowledge and skills. This pivotal experience led her to pursue a career in optometry, ultimately graduating from Hampton University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
